Putting my mechanical and restoration skills to use in the world of Letterpress, I have restored and rebuilt several Adana presses, both for myself and for clients – always with my own flair and style!
Adana 5X3
The first of the Adana restorations that I undertook was the little Adana 5×3 – a press with a tiny printing area not a lot larger than a postcard!
Finished in a sunshine bright yellow enamel, with polished aluminium detailing.

Adana HS3

A rather unusual Adana HS3 – very different castings to some of the other Adanas, and a great chase mechanism (sadly, no chase though).
Finished in a bright blue and silver enamel, with black detailing.
This press was restored for Real Art Make Print (RAMP) in Plymouth, for use in their workshops.
Adana 8X5 #1
This 8×5 went on a merry 600-mile round trip with me, wedged inside a suitcase and on numerous National Express coaches. I do not recommend it.
Finished in bright orange and silver, this press was restored for a local arts university, for use by students in their printmaking workshop.
(It is finished, but apparently I haven’t taken any photographs of it assembled!)

Adana 8X5 #2 (Work in Progress)

The latest Adana acquisition, another 8×5 – this time, for me!
I haven’t decided on the colour scheme for this press yet, but it might be a return to the bright yellow, though this time, with some extra flair.
